Great Falls’ Parade of Lights
Posted December 1, 2012
Last night was perfect weather-wise for Downtown Great Falls’ Parade of Lights…except…it was a bit windy.
This year Downtown Great Falls decided to do two Christmas events, a week apart.
For the last few years they have combined their parade of lights and Christmas stroll but this year was different.
And, this is the first year that I remember having so many floats in the parade of lights.
I started taking photos on my phone, only to realize that I was getting lots of glare. One turned out not bad and I’ll share it here.
After the parade of over thirty floats, the big guy in the red suit turned the switch to light all of the trees at the end of Central Avenue, right in front of the Civic Center.
Kids squealed, parents ooohed and cameras flashed. It really was a beautiful sight.
Most of the communities in Central Montana do either parades or Christmas strolls. If you get the chance, join one for some great small town charm.
