Favorite Things to do in Meagher County

On my last visit to Meagher County I starting counting the reasons why people came to vacation in the area. I saw hikers, hunters, campers, retired couples out for a getaway, and people who came to soak in the thermal springs. All in all, that covered quite a variety of people. Here’s a bit of history of the area. The largest town in the county is really a small quaint town of about 1,000 people. … Read more

Antique Motorcycles Cruise in to Great Falls

One hundred antique motorcycles are spending the night in Great Falls tonight and their owners are busy tuning things up for tomorrow’s ride. The parking lot of Great Falls’ Heritage Inn looks like a cross between a museum and a mechanic’s garage. Bikes and their owners were working on parts, some were dismantling engines, all in 48 degree temps and a drizzle of rain. Local event organizers planned a … Read more

Riding Motorcycles Through Beaver Creek Park

There may not be many more great riding days and these guys (and gals) were eager to take advantage of the open roads, medium temps (high of 65 today) and no moisture or wind. We met at the BW Great Northern Inn in Havre. Our first “group pose” was by the hotel’s sign. There was another motorcycle parked there … Read more

Old Trail Museum in Choteau, MT

After we left Triple J guest ranch we drove to Augusta, then up Hwy 287 to Choteau. The two communities are about a half hour apart. We drove north on US Hwy 89 through the main business district in Choteau and came to the Old Trail Museum Complex. Choteau’s Visitor Information Center anchors the south end of the complex and there are several buildings in between. We started at the main museum to learn some history about the Circle … Read more
