Calling All Car Enthusiasts

Posted May 4, 2009

It was a great weekend for car collectors, for people who just like to admire really cool cars, and for those who just like to get outside and attend an event.

Cruisin’ The Drag was held Saturday in downtown Great Falls, MT. Central Avenue was blocked off for about 8 blocks and over 500 car entries lined both sides of the streets. From jazzed-up muscle cars to unique things like a hearse turned motorhome, there really was something for everyone to enjoy.

Just to give things a little “fair-like” atmosphere, there were vendors of fried mini donuts, shaved ice, hamburgers…you get the picture!

After over 24 inches of snow had fallen in Great Falls the previous week, the sun came out, streets and sidewalks were clear of moisture, and the temps were mild. Everyone must have had a little spring fever because there was a huge turnout for Cruisin’ The Drag.

Sponsored by local car dealer Bennett Motors, this 11 year old event will be held again next year the first Saturday in May. Mark your calendar and make plans for a spring getaway to Cruisin’ The Drag.
