About Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce
When Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark made their historic journey to the Pacific Northwest, they were treated to some of nature's most awesome sights. In describing the area now known as Great Falls, they used adjectives such as 'splendid' and 'beautiful.' It is this same breath-taking country that nearly a century later inspired 'America's Cowboy Artist' Charles M. Russell. The legacy of these men, along with the Plains Indian culture which first nurtured this land, enlivens our history and enriches our western heritage.
Great Falls offers you the opportunity to see many of the extraordinary sights and sounds that so thrilled and inspired Lewis, Clark and Russell. We invite you to discover these natural wonders for yourself and experience the beauty of the West. See history come alive as you enjoy the area's special monuments and tributes to the men and women who have left such a rich heritage. Through the C.M. Russell Museum, the First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park and our many Lewis and Clark landmarks, you truly can relive the Old West.
All this history is set against a backdrop of fine restaurants, hotels, casinos, city parks, shopping malls and specialty stores that make Montana's third largest city an ideal place for a vacation. Great Falls is easily accessible by car and several major airlines, making travel to and from your hometown a breeze. Make your plans today for a fun, informative and relaxing visit.
