Great Tunes at the Holiday Inn Art Show

Posted March 23, 2011

What a treat last Saturday night – Chinook, MT natives Ken Overcast and his grand daughter Faith Hallingstead played and sang in the lobby of the Holiday Inn during the Western Heritage Artists Show and Sale. Ken plays guitar, Faith plays violin, and they both sing.

There was a dedicated crowd listening to their great music on the main floor and the second floor overlook was rimmed with people too.

Ken has played and sang for many years and he also does cowboy poetry. Faith is twelve years old, almost thirteen, and has been playing violin for several years. She has won fiddle championships in her age category and I suspect will go on to win many more!

They played and sang old time country/cowboy songs. I looked around at the crowd and it was quite diverse. Everyone seemed to have a happy face – and that is the best summary of this performance! If you weren’t there, you missed a good time.
