First Friday Art Walk in Great Falls

The First Friday Art Walks in Great Falls, Montana have been a great success. Even on a wintry Friday evening people flock to visit with local artists and see their work.

The artwalks are free – artists open their studios and galleries on a Friday night and many serve refreshments to visitors. Several featured locations are in downtown Great Falls on Central Avenue. The Columbus Centre on 16th Street and 2nd Avenue North has one floor devoted to art studios and then there are several other locations around town that feature art.

I visited with Chuck Fulcher, owner of Lodestone Gallery on Central Avenue in Great Falls the other night.

Chuck had a painting in progress and was working on it as I entered the gallery. Well no, he wasn’t working on it, he was visiting with other future customers while the beautiful painting sat idle! He was trying to work on it but kept getting involved in conversation as people wandered in and out of the gallery.

I actually had to say, OK, I want a photo of this guy painting so let’s cut the chatter!

My favorite paintings of Chuck Fulcher’s are his cows. This blue cow painting is awesome!

He also does stunning landscapes, florals, rainbow trout – quite a variety.

Plan your schedule so you can experience one of Great Falls’ First Friday Artwalks.

You’ll be able to visit one-on-one with local artists, learn a few things about their style of art and you could also head home with a purchase from one of these fine artists!
