Blackleaf Canyon Hike Wins Facebook Contest
Posted July 3, 2012
Week two of Central Montana’s Facebook contest yielded a winner who had hiked in the Blackleaf Canyon on the spectacular Rocky Mountain Front.
You can tell this winner’s love of the outdoors and, most noticeably, the sense of awe inspired by this unique location adjacent to Lewis & Clark National Forest land, the Bob Marshall Wilderness, the Great Bear Wilderness and the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Here is her story:
“The Rocky Mountain Front is one of my favorite places in all of Montana – and I spend a lot of time outdoors (for work and play). After a recent trip for some rock climbing to Blackleaf Canyon, we found this great, unmarked hike to a slot canyon nearby. We didn’t see another soul all day long and seemed like we had the mountains all to ourselves.
There’s some special energy on the Front!”
Well…we couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Thanks for sharing your story and photo.
