About Rocky Mountain Front Retreat

The Rocky Mountain Front Retreat is located 25 miles NW of Choteau, at close to 5,000 feet above sea level, on a 20 acre section of the historic Moore homestead established in 1919. If you are looking to experience the 'last best place' in the Crown of the Continent, where the rugged Rocky Mountains meet the expansive Great Plains, this is it.

Many outdoor activities are at your door step, such as hiking, photography, running or biking. Also, there are over 1,000 miles of wilderness trails close by in the Lewis and Clark National Forest and the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Plus, there are fishing, hunting and skiing opportunities in season.

There are very few places to stay located on the Rocky Mountain Front. It is sparsely populated with plenty of wildlife viewing, including: mule and white tail deer, elk, many varieties of birds, grizzly and black bears, chipmunks, rabbits and squirrels.

For those times you prefer to be cozy and stay indoors, the interior is comfortable and inviting, with quality furniture, and fully-equipped kitchen(s). The area is very quiet if you are looking for some writing or other creative time.

The Retreat has just been upgraded with high speed internet and two flat screen TVs for streaming from the internet, together with DVD players for watching movies.

High speed WiFi is available, as is a land line phone for local calls.

Introductory pricing from $125 to 225 per night (plus cleaning fee and taxes).

The Rocky Mountain Front Retreat can accommodate families or groups up to 10 people in two self-contained suites: the Elk Suite and Grizzly Suite. These suites are separated by a common entry area, with both suites providing privacy in comfortable surroundings with all the modern conveniences. The Rocky Mountain Front Retreat can be rented as a whole, or each suite can be rented on its own.

The Retreat is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountain Front on the edge of wilderness, yet not too far from town. It truly is part of the Crown of the Continent.
