About K Bar L Ranch

Welcome to the K Bar L Ranch. We're located on the edge of Montana's Bob Marshall Wilderness, below Sun Butte, where the North and South Forks of the Sun River meet. Since 1927 the K Bar L has been a superb mountain retreat... a place to call your own, with main dining lodge and comfortable guest cabins.

When would you like to visit? In June, the snow lingers in the sheltered areas and mountain peaks. Big game moves back to the summer range, and new flowers color the mountainsides. July and August bring summer's full glory, warm sunshine, mild temperatures and clean air. In September, elk bugle in the canyons and aspen leaves turn to a warm golden glow. You'll sleep through frosty nights, snuggled under Hudson Bays.

You can only get to the K Bar L by jet boat up Gibson Lake, or by saddle horse and pack mule around a scenic mountain trail to the ranch. The K Bar L's reputation has been built on giving our guests the best of everything.

The Last Old Premiere Dude Ranch, the K Bar L Ranch is a little piece of heaven... and a good horse. Call us soon so we can start planning for your visit. Fly into Great Falls or Helena and drive less than 2 hours to our lower ranch. A short boat ride away, a good hike, or a 6 mile horse ride in and you will be at the K Bar L Ranch.
