In the heart of winter, during the quiet month of January, ranchers and farmers enjoy a brief lull before calving and lambing season begins. As snow gently blankets the renowned grasslands of our Big Sky Country, winter wheat rests, and all four-legged creatures carry new life.
Life is quietly blossoming! The earth is rejuvenating, and Montanans are taking a moment to celebrate the agricultural lifestyle we cherish. The Montana Winter Fair, with its origins dating back to 1946, honors Montana’s exceptional agricultural production and our proud “western way of life.”
Originally held in Bozeman from 1946 to 2002, the Montana Winter Fair now takes place in Lewistown, at the heart of the state. The fair continues to uphold its traditions, welcoming participants of all ages from Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, and beyond.
This non-profit event is organized by hundreds of dedicated volunteers from the Central Montana community, with generous support from local sponsors that make every aspect of the fair possible. A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL WHO VOLUNTEER AND SPONSOR this wonderful celebration of Montana's agricultural heritage!
Join your neighbors at the 2025 Montana Winter Fair, happening January 17-19. It’s the perfect antidote to cabin fever!
