Get Your Kicks at 6 - 50 Watt Sun

The Get Your Kicks at 6 concert on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 6 p.m. at the Choteau City Park band shell will feature the music of the 1990s rock band 50 Watt Sun from Great Falls.

The performance is free to the public and those planning to attend are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Public restrooms are available just across Spring Creek on the east side of the City Park, and the Pavilion will accommodate the concert if the weather is bad.

Farmers market, food and beverage vendors will be at the family-friendly event.

The members of the band are Rod Miller on lead guitar, Mike Howard on vocals, Mark Gallant on bass/vox, Matt Dalla Mura on drums and Matthew Washington on rhythm guitar. They play a wide variety of grunge and alt rock covers, including pieces by Nirvana, Weezer, Stone Temple Pilots, Green day and more.

The band formed seven years ago and has opened for the rock band Molly Hatchet, and has opened for Trap at the Newberry Lounge in Great Falls and have performed at the Rockin’ the Rivers music festival in Three Forks.
