The sun really does burst over the Sweet Grass Hills to shine on Sunburst, Montana each morning. The town is located just eight miles from the US/Canada border and the Sweetgrass Port of entry. Sunburst became a boom town in the 1920s with the discovery of oil in the Kevin-Sunburst oil fields. Oil excavation in the area declined during the 1970s and Sunburst has returned to its roots as an agricultural community.
