About Pendroy, Montana
Pendroy was founded in 1916 just east of U. S. Highway 89 on Secondary Highway 221. The president of the Great Northern Railroad had promised his friend, L. B. Pendroy, that he would build a railroad to his home when the branch line was extended north. Pendroy had great hopes for the future of the town but the rail line was never built. The town was named in L. B. Pendroy’s honor.
Today, dryland grain farms surrounding Pendroy produce high yields for area farmers. Visitors are amazed by the unparalleled views of the Rocky Mountain Front. The Rose Room, a small bar and restaurant located in Pendroy operates on a reservation only basis.
