Fun Family Day

Posted November 12, 2012

The C. M. Russell Museum in Great Falls hosts an open house each November where kids and parents can enjoy making some fun seasonal decorations.

It looked like Christmas this past Saturday and, at first glance, it looked like chaos!

In the lower level of the museum, long banquet-style tables were covered with paper and a huge variety of pinecones, paper banners, sugar cookies to decorate, sequins, chocolate candy that would become decorated mini-mice – wow, a day of arts and crafts projects and a day of family togetherness.

In the Children’s Discovery Room at the museum, one more craft table was set up to make Christmas cards, and kids could also explore everything from saddles to creating artwork like Charlie Russell would have done. Dress up like a cowboy or cowgirl? Yup, that was available too and kids were having a blast.

The open house at the museum also featured shopping discounts in the beautifully decorated gift shop upstairs and free admission to the galleries.

Great day!
