A-Strolling We Did Go

Posted December 10, 2012

Friday night was the Christmas Stroll in downtown Great Falls. I debated about going since the weather was about to change. But, I bundled in warm clothes and off I went with a friend to stroll.

I had purchased a stroll button a couple of weeks before ($5) and I loved the design. Brian Morger, local artist, did the design featuring the Great Falls Historic Trolley.

Each button is numbered and many of the downtown merchants had donated gifts for the drawings. Winning numbers haven’t been posted yet…I’m still waiting for my phone to ring telling me I won something! It’s all for a good cause though so I’m not too concerned if I don’t win.

Central Avenue was closed to motor traffic and over 30 vendors lined the avenue with tempting goodies – mini donuts, stir fry meals, pork on a stick, and a variety of other fried items, hot chocolate and more.

There was also a polar plunge where participants had garnered pledges that will all go to a cause. I had wandered in to one of the stores that was open and missed the plunge, darn!

It was a good time though and I’m glad I talked myself in to going.
