The Rocky Mountain Front

The heart of the Montana Scenic Loop is one of the most completely preserved mountain ecosystems in the world. Under stewardship of the USDA Forest Service, the reknowned Bob Marshall, Great Bear and Scapegoat Wilderness areas offer breathtaking scenery and unlimited recreation opportunities. Wildlife viewing is unparalleled across these vast open landscapes.

This spectacular area ranges over 1.5 million acres, managed under four national forests: Flathead National Forest, Lolo National Forest, Helena National Forest and the Lewis and Clark National Forest.
