Join us in Conrad for The Merchant of Venice on Sunday, August 9 at 6:00 PM at the Swimming Pool Park.
Montana Shakespeare in the Parks returns for its 54th season, sharing the magic of live theatre with communities across Montana and beyond from June through September. With free performances held under the open sky, this beloved tradition welcomes audiences of all ages to enjoy an evening of storytelling, connection, and culture. This year’s tour features two of Shakespeare’s most celebrated plays-The Merchant of Venice and Much Ado About Nothing-visiting more than 60 towns across five states and creating memorable experiences beneath Montana’s vast Big Sky.
This summer’s The Merchant of Venice examines justice, mercy, prejudice, and the search for belonging in a divided world. As Bassanio courts Portia and Antonio enters a risky agreement with Shylock, Jessica makes a bold choice to leave her father’s home in pursuit of love and independence. Blending romance with powerful courtroom drama, the play explores the consequences of exclusion and the possibility of compassion and redemption.
Directed by Kevin Asselin.
Make it a two-night Shakespeare experience by heading to Choteau on August 10 for Much Ado About Nothing.
