This event benefits the Lewistown Trail System. Friends of the Trails supports the 24-mile civic trail system around Lewistown and they strive to keep the trails clean and maintained for enjoyment by all. Proceeds from the Trails & Ales event, the trail's main fundraiser, will assist in maintaining the trail system, its landscaping, and improvements.
The trail system provides a great way to explore Lewistown by foot or bike. The Trailhead located near Creekside Marketplace (the location of Trails & Ales) is a great starting place to explore, however, other good starting points include Frog Ponds and Brewery Flats. Frog Ponds is an excellent site for birdwatching and has a looping trail.
