Historic Havre Strolls

High Line Heritage Resources warmly welcomes you to Havre and Hill County! You are invited to experience a taste of the Old West and see where vice and virtue lived and worked side by side to crate the High Lines largest town!

The best way to experience this rich and broad history is by taking one of several Historic Havre Strolls conducted by local historian and Havre native Miss Emily Ann Mayer. Learn how the people who built this area lived, worked, played and dreamed through a great tour carefully researched for accuracy. Photographs presented throughout the tour, many exclusive only to Miss Emily, enhance the tour in a meaningful manner. Her Strolls are far superior to all self-guided walking tour maps available. There are three Strolls of Miss Emilys beloved Havre Residential Historic District: Old Townsite, Eclectic and Craftsman, as well as an Old Downtown Havre tour. Price for these tours are $8 for adults, $4 for children 10 and under. Strolls are about an hour long. There is an Old Townsite/Downtown Havre Combination Stroll, which takes about an hour and a half. Price for this Stroll is $12 per person, $6 for children 10 and under . Please inquire about group rates. Strolls are conducted by appointment only, weather permitting; Strolls are not available during certain holidays. Please call for details. All Historic Havre Strolls leave from the High Line Heritage House, located at 132 Third Street. For more information about the High Line Heritage House, please check our website or look for our webpage at this website.

Periodic History Among the Headstones Tours are also available. Please check our website for dates or call for information.

Please inquire about Miss Emilys publications, including a free quarterly newsletter, her books Images of America: Hill County and Havre, the Brief Guide to Sculpture and Public Art in Havre, and the upcoming Hill County Centennial Scrapbook, History Among the Headstones books, DVDs and other products. Also ask about events hosted by High Line Heritage Resources, including National Historic Preservation Month activities in May including the annual Havre/Hill County Historic Preservation Award, alternating Prettiest Porch and High Line Heritage Awards and many other events.
