Head to Shelby, Montana for the Marias Fair as members of Toole, Pondera, Liberty and Glacier Counties join forces for one spectacular week! This event-filled week is sure to be fun for the whole family. There are a ton of activities including: the Barbeque Contest, Kids Boot Race, the Carnival, Pony Ride, Parade, and Kids Inflatable Fun Zone. There will also be local vendors selling food and handcrafted items. Check out some of the many Grand Stand Events like the Indian Relay Races, the Marias River Stampede, and live Music and Dancing with local bands. There is something for everyone!
Even after all the carnival rides, a trip to Shelby is not complete without stopping at the Carousel! Visit the Carousel Rest Area of Shelby for a ride on the meticulously restored merry-go-round originally from 1936. Other summer activities include camping at Lake Shel-oole and hiking and wildlife viewing in the nearby Sweet Grass Hills. Shelby is the county seat of Toole County and is located in North Central Montana approximately 80 miles east of Glacier National Park, and 30 miles south of the Canadian border.
