Every Father's day the town of Roy, Montana plays host to the Roy Rodeo. In addition to good food, professional stock, and talented cowboys, Roy hosts a dance and Calcutta auction. The dance and auction take place the night before the rodeo and make a great start to Father's day festivities.

At just thirty miles from the Missouri River, Roy serves as a hub for fishing and recreation. Sand Creek Wildlife station, on US Highway 191 north of Roy, manages the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge in the Roy area. The CMR Refuge is a wilderness habitat for bighorn sheep, elk, antelope, and deer. The Refuge also provides opportunities to camp, hike, boat, watch wildlife and hunt. Bureau of Land Management's Missouri Breaks BackCountry Byway is just north of Roy and offers spectacular view of the river breaks.
