Blackfeet Painted Tipi Exhibit

I recently toured the new Blackfeet Painted Tipi exhibit installed at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Great Falls, MT. The colorful and educational exhibit details different tipi designs used by the Blackfeet tribe from northwestern Montana. This exhibit will remain at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center through summer and fall so it will be a great excursion for visiting friends and family. Some folks spin a yarn and tell a story, others really do spin yarn! Once a month a local group of spinners and weavers sets up spinning wheels in a Great Falls, MT museum and demonstrates this amazing art. The Geese Are Here

It’s ltime for our annual migration of tens of thousands of snow geese. The largest staging area in Russell Country is at Freezout Lake WMA between Choteau and Fairfield, MT. Another great viewing area is Benton Lake Wildlife Refuge north of Great Falls. There is open water at both locations, its still chilly north of Montana, so migratory waterfowl are just hanging out, feeding on grain stubble to get lots of energy for the rest … Read more
