Anglers enjoy a paradise of piscatorial delights at their doorstep, given that the north and south forks of the Sun River converge at the K Bar L Ranch. Both forks of the Sun River flow out of the Bob Marshall and Scapegoat Wilderness areas up slope from the Ranch, and the fishing is excellent in both rivers once the turbidity from the snow-melt driven spring run-off subsides.
The consistently fine fishing is in no small part due to the fact that the waters on and in close proximity are seldom fished by others. With stream access a matter of hiking or coming by horseback into the area, few anglers are willing to wear out the shoe leather necessary to get up and into these waters. Rainbow are abundant in both rivers and its tributaries that feed it as well as cutthroat, Westslope Cutthroat, Westslope X Rainbow Crosses, Brook Trout, White Fish and Arctic Grayling.
