Paris Gibson, Founder of Great Falls

A lunch break the other day in Gibson Park, one of Great Falls’ most centrally located parks, had me getting my camera out for some photos.

A local garden club and the Great Falls Park & Recreation Department make sure the park looks great for all of the events there. On Wednesday evenings in the summer there are free city band concerts. Many outdoor weddings take place in the park and families will host gatherings there too.

This statue at the entrance to Gibson Park is of Paris Gibson, the park’s namesake and the founder of Great Falls. Not much is named after him but thankfully this park bears the name.

A large pond filled with ducks, a paved walking trail, beautiful public art by local artists, lots of playground equipment and picnic areas make this a well visited city park.

I was having a day where it seemed like everything was going wrong. A visit to Gibson Park was the perfect attitude adjustment that I needed!
