Demo Day With Bighorn Wilderness

It’s no secret we’ve been having rain, and lots of it. It’s also pretty rare to ever hear a Montanan complain about moisture!

Today was the day that locally owned Bighorn Wilderness was sponsoring an equipment demo day on Wadsworth Pond west of Great Falls. Well, it might have been a little bit blustery but Bighorn owner Chris Leatham had his usual smile and positive disposition.

When I drove in to the Wadsworth Pond area it was overcast and drizzly but the colorful kayaks loaded onto the racks looked beautiful. They sparkled, there were several styles and sizes, and I really would have liked to hop in one and try it out. Then I remembered the steady breeze that probably would have kept me spinning circles in the middle of Wadsworth Pond and I decided I’d keep using my old kayak.

Volunteers were also on hand to help out and a couple Fish, Wildlife and Parks people were setting up for the kids fishing day at the pond scheduled for tomorrow.

All in all, it was such a pretty setting, just a little cool and wet.

Bighorn Wilderness has been in Great Falls for many years. Chris and Beth Leatham purchased the business about a year and a half ago. This recreation-minded couple is a good fit for the business.

We’ve used Chris and a colorful kayak as models for some photo shoots (thanks Chris) and I hope they can reschedule their demo day.

I might not be in the market for a new kayak but I’ll probably be scouting out some new dansko shoes at Bighorn Wilderness in the near future.
